Marie Myers Park is a passive wooded all-natural park that is preserved
by the city as a public nature sanctuary. The park is ideal for
short nature hikes and bird watching. The park is an integral connector for the Urban Wilderness, with a 1.8-mile flowing trail, which links the
William Hastie Natural Area to the
Ijams Quarries trails. Trail users can connect to
Baker Creek Preserve on the 1.5-mile Red Bud Crest trail via a pedestrian/bicycle bridge over E. Red Bud Road.
HISTORY OF THE PARK
The park is named in memory
of Marie Myers whose son and daughter-in-law sold the property to
the city. Myers was a Knoxville resident who loved the outdoors.
