The Regional Solid Waste Board produces the Solid Waste Region Plan - a plan for landfill regulation, environmental protection, improved solid waste management, better utilization of natural resources, and public education regarding solid waste management
APPOINTMENT OF BOARD MEMBERS
The Regional Solid Waste Board is made up of a panel of local municipal representatives, citizens and private sector individuals. Its primary purpose is the preparation and development of solid waste regional plans that result in the most cost effective and efficient management of solid waste in the best interest of the citizens of Knox County. Each board member serves six year terms with unlimited number of terms. The staff agency for the Regional Solid Waste Board is the Knox County Solid Waste Department.
