City Accepting Applications for Community Agency, Opioid Grants

Posted: 01/23/2024
The City of Knoxville is now accepting applications for funding from two grant programs being facilitated by Mayor Kincannon’s office: Community Agency Grants and Opioid Abatement Grants for the 2024-2025 fiscal year.

Community Agency Grants support organizations that help the City meet its goals and priorities through programming in two categories: Arts & Culture and Community & Social Services. In the past four years, more than $6.8 million in Community Agency Grants have supported the activities of local organizations that provide education, cultural enrichment and support services to the people of Knoxville.

Opioid Abatement Grants are one-time funds to support organizations' efforts to mitigate and prevent opioid addiction in Knoxville. States and local governments have received funds from the settlements with the makers, sellers, and distributors of opioids to address the addiction crisis in their communities. The City will allocate $250,000 to address the impact of opioid addiction in our community.

Groups applying for Community Agency and Opioid Abatement grants should operate within Knoxville city limits and be registered as charitable organizations with the Tennessee Secretary of State or have a current exemption.

CAG applicants must have their 501c3 non-profit status for a minimum of 5 years. Opioid Abatement grant applicants must have their 501c3 non-profit status for a minimum of 2 years.

Grant applications are posted at KnoxvilleTN.gov/CityGrants. Funding will be distributed quarterly during the 2024-25 fiscal year.

Signed applications are due Thursday, Feb.15, 2024, by 4 p.m. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
