The Neighborhood Advisory Council (NAC) meets tomorrow Wednesday, May 13, from 4:30-6 p.m. via Zoom with Officer John Morgan, with the Knoxville Police Department’s Safety Education Unit, as the speaker.

He will present ways to stay safe during the COVID-19 crisis and show a PowerPoint presentation called “Active Shooter Safety”.

If you would like to watch the webinar, everyone is welcome to click on the link below to watch.

If you know you have questions now, you can email them to dsharp@knoxvilletn.gov by noon on Wednesday, May 13, and we will try to cover these during the presentation.  After the presentation, the NAC members will have a chance to ask questions.  If there is time left, we will open the floor up for attendees to ask questions.

Attendees will be able to Zoom in or call in and listen to the presentation and the Council member’s comments.  You will be on mute when you call in.  If there is time at the end for attendee questions, you will be able to raise your hand by clicking on the “Hand sign” or *9.  I should be able to find you and unmute you.

Consisting of neighborhood leaders from around the city, the Neighborhood Advisory Council serves in an advisory and partnership capacity to:

1) Give advice and feedback on the programs and policies of the Office of Neighborhoods,
2) Bring neighborhood issues and concerns to the attention of the Mayor and City Administration,
3) Propose to the Administration responses and solutions to address these concerns; and
4) Serve as a sounding board for city initiatives and proposals affecting neighborhoods.

The NAC advises and provides input only to the Mayor and the City Administration. As a matter of policy, it does not advise Knoxville City Council, the Metropolitan Planning Commission, and other elected and appointed bodies.

The City's Office of Neighborhoods provides staff support to the NAC.
