Vol fans use Neyland Greenway to walk to
Neyland Stadium for football games.

Directions: Take the James White Parkway exit off of I-40; then take the Summit Hill exit; turn left onto Summit Hill; at the second red light the road turns into Dandridge; make first right first going through the red light; park will be on the right side of the road.

The bridge on First Creek serves as the boundary between Neyland and James White Greenways. Neyland Greenway begins at the bridge over First Creek and continues west, parallel to the Tennessee River. The greenway crosses Neyland Drive at the mouth of Second Creek where Second Creek Greenway continues north to World's Fair Park, or greenway users may continue west along Neyland Greenway to the University of Tennessee's Thompson-Boling Sports Arena, Neyland Stadium and beyond, crossing to the south side of Neyland Dr. at Volunteer Boulevard.

The greenway continues alongside the Tennessee River to pass UT's Soccer Complex and then crosses under Neyland Dr. again at the mouth of Third Creek. Here, users may turn onto Third Creek Greenway headed north to Tyson Park, or continue on Neyland Greenway headed west through the UT Experimental Garden and the UT Veterinary School.

At the entrance to I-40 from Neyland Dr., users may enter the greenway cloverleaf to merge onto Knox/Blount Greenway, which crosses the Buck Karnes (Alcoa Hwy) Bridge. Otherwise, Neyland Greenway continues westward up to the parking lot at the UT Faculty Club.

Neyland Greenway is also part of the Knoxville Track Club's CrossKnox Race, which runs from Haley Heritage Square in East Knoxville all the way to Bearden Elementary School in West Knoxville.

Neyland Greenway and Neyland Drive are named in honor of former University of Tennessee football coach, General Robert Neyland.  Neyland (1892-1962).  Neyland led the Volunteers to four national championships (1938, 1940, 1950, 1951).
