The Knoxville-Knox County Food Policy Council monitors and evaluates the performance of Knoxville's food system, in terms of costs, availability, accessibility and implications for public health/economic efficiency, public awareness of food issues, improvement of food supply and distribution network in Knoxville.


APPOINTMENT OF BOARD MEMBERS

Eleven members are on the Council. Five are appointed by the City Mayor and six are appointed by the County Mayor. Terms are for three-years and staggered so that no more than four expire in any year. No member may serve more than two consecutive terms. In the event of a vacancy, an appointment may be made only for the unexpired portion of the term.


MEETINGS SCHEDULE

The Knoxville-Knox County Food Policy Council meets on the third Wednesday of each month from 8:30-10:00 am. Meetings are held at the United Way of Greater Knoxville at 1301 Hannah Avenue, Knoxville, TN 37921.
