The Knoxville Civic Auditorium & Coliseum leases space to various entertainment promoters to provide an opportunity for area residents to enjoy these events. The operation of the facility tries to maximize rental and tax revenues for itself and associated industries in the City, thus reducing the tax burden to the citizens for its operational costs. The facility hosts major touring shows; including the circus, ice shows, concerts, conventions, ballets, symphonies and cultural activities.
The Knoxville Civic Auditorium is a beautifully decorated, climate controlled theatre or concert hall facility with sightlines and acoustics carefully engineered for perfection. A complete high-fidelity sound amplification system is available when desired. There are 1,393 contoured, upholstered chairs on the main floor and 1,014 in the balcony for a total of 2,407 seats.
The Knoxville Coliseum is a completely climate-controlled arena with a large lobby, ticket-handling facilities, checkrooms, refreshment stands and restrooms. It is equipped with a high-volume sound amplification system, an electrostatic filter system for removal of smoke and pollen and eight private dressing rooms. A 25-foot wide; 14.5-foot high exterior service door permits entry of large tractor-trailers. There are 4,414 fixed seats; with chairs that can be put on the large 190' x 106' flat-floor area for seating up to 7,200. For trade shows, a combined area of more than 34,000 sq. ft. can accommodate up to 184 exhibit booths (10' x 10') on the same level, with unlimited load per square foot.
