ADOPTING GOV. LEE'S TENNESSEE PLEDGE JULY 1, 2020 |
On June 17, 2020, the Knox County Board of Health voted to
adopt Governor Lee's Tennessee Pledge guidance effective July 1, 2020 instead of the City & County 3-phased reopening plan.

CITY & COUNTY LOCAL BUSINESS REOPENING PLAN |
PHASE 1
Knox County and the City of Knoxville will begin a gradual, phased-in reopening of businesses Friday, May 1, 2020. The collaborative plan emerged after extensive work from a joint City / County Task Force convened by the Knox County Health Department.
The plan highlights the fact that the community will not be immediately returning to a pre-pandemic “normal”, but instead outlines a 3 phase approach to reopening. Each phase will last a minimum of 28 days.
This plan also emphasizes
5 CORE ACTIONS all individuals are being asked to adhere to throughout the reopening process:
• Practice Physical Distancing
• Wear Cloth Face Coverings
• Practice Proper Handwashing
• Clean / Sanitize Surfaces
• Stay Home if Sick

PHASE 2
Knox County and the City of Knoxville will begin Phase Two of the community’s reopening plan on Tuesday, May 26, 2020.
Most industries can operate in Phase Two if they can maintain safety and health precautions. The Phase Two guidelines are posted on
KCHD’s website, titled “
Reopening Plan: Phase Two Amendment.” Phase Two builds upon Phase One; if an industry was open in Phase One, they remain open. KCHD will assess the status of Phase Two on June 12, 2020 and will make potential recommendations at that time.

PHASE 3
Reopening Plan lists Phase 3 at 28 days after Phase 2. Depending on the status of the COVID-19 pandemic in our area, this could change.
