Directions: From I-40, Take the US-11E/US-25W/US-70 exit- EXIT 394. Turn LEFT onto ASHEVILLE HWY/US-11E E/US-25W S/US-70 E/TN-9 N. End at 5900 Asheville Hwy.


Milton Roberts Community Center is a large facility located off of Asheville Highway in East Knoxville (next to the Comcast building).  The center provides a game room, gymnasium, and a meeting/rec room.

The facility is supplemented by Holston-Chilhowee Ballfields, which offers five baseball/softball fields, batting cages, a football field, and the one-mile paved Holston-Chilhowee Greenway. The recreation center and park are adjacent to the Holston River and the Holston Chilhowee Neighborhood Pool.

PROGRAM OVERVIEWS
After School Program
is a free service for parents of children ages 6-12.  The program operates from 2:45 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. (and extended hours on half days and early release days) Monday through Friday in connection with the Knox County Schools schedule.  Participants enjoy gym games, arts & crafts, and board games.  Snack is provided daily.

Adult Basketball Open Gym invites community members to play pick-up basketball games. Format varies based on number of players in attendance.

Adult Open Pickleball provides opportunity to enjoy the nation's fastest growing sport.  Pickleball blends tennis, badminton, and ping pong.  It is played with a paddle, a wiffle ball, and a net.  The center features 3 courts lined on the wood gym floor.

Adult Open Volleyball welcomes players at the Beginner to Intermediate levels to engage in friendly, yet competitive games with fellow volleyball enthusiasts.

Card & Board Game Social invites members of the community for a night of gaming with friends.  Board and card games will be provided for check-out and participants are welcome to bring their own from home.

Coffee & Chat is a time for members of the community to meet, socialize, and check in with one another over a free fresh cup of coffee.

Family Night Free Play opens up the community center to families, including children, to use the gym, activity space, and multipurpose room to engage in activities of all sorts including sports, games, crafts, reading and more!

Senior Walking for Fitness encourages older adults to utilize the gymnasium to achieve their fitness goals.  Music from the 70s & 80s will help keep you moving.  Bring a friend!

Summer Camp is offered in June and July for children age 6-12. Days feature games and activities at the center, lunch & snack and field trips!  More information available at www.summercampknoxville.com

HISTORY OF THE CENTER
This community center is named in honor of Milton E. Roberts Sr. who served as a city councilman for 18 2-year terms between 1944 and 1990.

RULES AND REGULATIONS IN CITY COMMUNITY CENTERS 

The following are prohibited in city community centers:

1) Possession of firearms and weapons
2) Possession of drugs, alcohol, or any elicit substance
3) Smoking or use of tobacco products
4) Gambling
5) Use of profanity
6) Fighting
7) Dunking or hanging on rims of basketball goals
8) Pets
9) Only indoor court shoes allowed (ex: tennis shoes or non-marking soles)

Violation of these rules or any other rules set by individual centers may result in suspension from this center and others. Suspension terms will be set by each center.
