A man and woman charged in the March 11th murder of Artimeyo Folks were arrested on Monday morning.
Ronald Rogers, 26 of Knoxville, and Carissa Rogers, 29 of Knoxville, were taken into custody at a home in Mobile, Alabama by members of the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office on Monday, May 8, 2023.
Following continued investigation into the death of 25-year-old Artimeyo Folks, Knoxville Police Department Homicide Unit detectives obtained warrants charging Ronald Rogers with second-degree murder and Carissa Rogers with accessory after the fact.
Folks, of Detroit, Michigan, was found shot outside of a Western Heights apartment complex on the afternoon of Saturday, March 11 and subsequently died after being transported from the scene to the UT Medical Center.
Two Homicide Unit detectives are in route to Mobile for additional investigation and both Ronald Rogers and Carissa Rogers will be extradited back to Knox County in the coming days.
The Knoxville Police Department is grateful to the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office for their efforts to quickly locate and apprehend those two suspects.
