The Knoxville Police Department Homicide Unit is investigating a deadly stabbing that happened early Sunday morning.
At around 3:20 a.m. on Sunday, April 23, 2023, KPD officers responded to KFD Station 10 on Sevier Avenue. A woman showed up at the KFD Station after reportedly being stabbed in the 1400 block of E. Moody Avenue. The victim was treated by EMS personnel on scene and transported to the UT Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.
It was reported by witnesses that the victim and male suspect were involved in an altercation when the suspect allegedly produced a knife, stabbed the victim and ran from the scene.
Responding officers located a man matching the description of the suspect walking on James White Parkway and took him into custody without incident for questioning.
Upon further investigation, the suspect, identified as 61-year-old Kenneth Hall, was charged with second-degree murder and aggravated assault.
The investigation is ongoing at this time. The identity of the victim, a 42-year-old woman, is being withheld at this time.
