Investigation Underway After Gunshot Victim Found at Taylor Homes Road

Taylor Homes Road Shooting Victim Identified (December 21, 2022, 4:45 p.m.)

The victim from the shooting on Tuesday night in the 440 block of Taylor Homes Road was identified as a 16-year-old male from Knoxville.

The investigation, which is being led by the KPD Violent Crimes Unit, has revealed that the victim was walking through the apartment complex when he was shot multiple times in an apparent targeted shooting. It is believed that at least two unidentified suspects were involved and that the suspects ran from the scene following the shooting. No suspect information is available at this time.

At around 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, Knoxville Police Department officers were on a call in the area of Walter P. Taylor Homes when they heard multiple gunshots nearby. Officers quickly responded, searched the area, and found a gunshot victim in the 440 block of Taylor Homes Road near S. Olive Street. The male victim was transported to the UT Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

There is no suspect information at this time and the investigation is in the preliminary stages. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
