KPD Investigating Deadly Shooting on Rosedale Avenue

Victim Identified from Deadly Rosedale Avenue Shooting (August 18, 2022, 12:15 p.m.)

The victim from the shooting in the 1900 block of Rosedale Avenue has been identified as Richard Wynn, 24 of Knoxville, Tennessee. The shooting remains under active investigation by the Knoxville Police Department Violent Crimes Unit. At this time, no suspects have been arrested or charged in connection to the shooting.

At around 1:50 p.m. on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, Knoxville Police Department officers responded to a shooting in the 1900 block of Rosedale Avenue. Officers arrived on scene and located a man who had been shot. The victim was transported to the UT Medical Center and did not survive his injuries. No suspects have been identified and there is no suspect information at this time.

Vine Middle School was temporarily placed on hard lockdown following the shooting but came off of lockdown a short time later.
