One Dead After Shooting at Bebo’s Cafe

Update on Investigation into Bebo’s Café Shooting (August 15, 2022, 10:50 p.m.)

The victim from the shooting that occurred in the parking lot of Bebo’s Café in the early hours of Sunday, August 14, 2022 has been identified as Cedric Isom, 29 of Knoxville. The second male victim remains hospitalized after being shot in the leg. Responding officers quickly applied a tourniquet to the second victim’s leg to stop the large amount of bleeding, and he is expected to survive his injuries.

The circumstances that led to the shooting remain under investigation by the KPD Violent Crimes Unit. It is believed that at least two people fired shots during the encounter and numerous people were in the immediate area when the shooting occurred. No suspects have been charged, but investigators are pursuing active leads.

At around 1:50 a.m. on Sunday, August 14, 2022, Knoxville Police Department officers responded to a shooting that occurred in the parking lot of Bebo’s Cafe at 8111 Gleason Drive. Officers arrived on scene and found two shooting victims. One male victim was pronounced dead at the scene, while officers provided aid to the second male victim, who was rushed to the hospital and is expected to survive his injuries. The investigation, which is being led by the KPD Violent Crimes Unit, is in the early stages and remains ongoing at this time.
