Drug and Guns Arrests for Week of January 31
As the first month of 2022 came to a close, Knoxville Police Department officers continued their proactive efforts to take deadly drugs and illegally-possessed firearms off of the street.
In a review of KPD incident reports from Monday, January 31 through Sunday, February 6, KPD officers either arrested or charged 47 individuals with weapon or drug charges over that timeframe. The ages of those charged ranged from 19 to 61.
Throughout the week, KPD officers confiscated at least the following: five guns that were possessed in violation of state law, nearly 38 grams of heroin, nearly a gram of fentanyl, 157 pills, approximately three grams of meth, nearly four grams of cocaine, and over 110 pieces of drug paraphernalia.
The charges from those incidents included three for unlawful possession of a weapon, two for convicted felon in possession of a handgun, two for manufacture, sale or delivery of a controlled substance, three for auto theft and one for possession of a stolen firearm among a multitude of other charges.
KPD officers are working hard to keep Knoxville safe and needs the community’s help to make the city as safe as it can be.
