This morning at around 3 a.m., KPD officers observed a Ford Crown Vic that was a vehicle of interest from a drive-by shooting that occurred in the 200 block of Douglas Avenue on January 7. Nobody was injured in that shooting. Officers spotted the vehicle and attempted a traffic stop on Dandridge at Wilder, but the driver refused to stop and officers initiated a pursuit. The pursuit continued for approximately 22 minutes until the suspect vehicle got on I-40 East. The driver eventually stopped on I-40 East near James White Parkway and the three occupants of the vehicle were taken into custody without further incident. Three loaded handguns were found in the car, including a stolen firearm. All three occupants, men between the ages of 18 and 20, were arrested and charges are pending on all three.
