Drug and Weapon Arrests for ...
Drug and Weapon Arrests for Week of January 3
During the first full week of 2022, Knoxville Police Department officers continued to work hard to remove dangerous and deadly narcotics from the streets of Knoxville.
In a review of incident reports submitted by KPD officers from Monday, January 3 through Sunday, January 9, a total of 31 individuals were either arrested or charged for drug or weapon charges over the timeframe within the City of Knoxville. The ages of those arrested or charged during that stretch ranged from the youngest at 20 years of age to the oldest at 58 years old. In addition to that, over that seven-day window, KPD officers also confiscated the following: at least two firearms possessed in violation of state law, almost seven grams of heroin, almost 21 grams of meth, almost 25 grams of cocaine, 41 ecstasy pills, 92 pieces of drug paraphernalia and over $1,200 in cash.
KPD officers will continue to concentrate their efforts on preventing violent crime and overdose deaths by working to take deadly narcotics off the street and guns from those who wish to do harm in the community. Suspected overdose deaths reached an all-time high in Knox County in 2021, and it will take the entire community to combat this horrible epidemic.
