Stanley Wilson, 50 of Knoxville, Tennessee, has been charged with attempted first degree murder, felon in possession of a weapon and employing a firearm during the commission of a felony following a shooting that occurred on Avondale Avenue on the night of Tuesday, September 28.
According to warrants obtained by responding KPD Violent Crimes Unit investigators, Wilson is accused of the following. At around 9:20 p.m., the victim, a 43-year-old male, was at Wilson’s residence in the 3300 block of Avondale Avenue when the two got into an argument. The victim stated that he went to leave the residence when Wilson began shooting at him and his vehicle. The victim, who was not struck by the gunfire, stated that bullets did strike the vehicle, including the head rest near where the victim was seated. Wilson then chased the victim down Avondale Avenue and drove his truck into the rear of the victim’s vehicle before fleeing the scene.
Just after midnight, Wilson was taken into custody without incident by Community Engagement Response Team officers at his residence on Avondale. He has since been booked into the Roger D. Wilson Detention Facility.
