James Howard, 74, Arrested for Attempted Second Degree Murder
On Thursday, June 4 at 10:44 p.m., Knoxville Police Department officers responded to an aggravated assault in the 2900 block of Curtis Lane after a female victim called 911 stating that her husband had shot her. Upon arrival, officers observed a female gunshot victim, who stated that her husband had shot her and it was not an accident. Officers took the suspect, James Howard (DOB 1/29/46), into custody without incident and began rendering aid to the victim. The 63-year-old female was transported to the UT Medical Center for injuries that are not expected to be life-threatening. Following further investigation, Howard was charged with Attempted Second Degree Murder with a $100,000 bond and booked into the Knox County Detention Center.
