Shooting on Adcock Avenue

UPDATE (May 1, 2020, 5:15 p.m.)

The victim from the shooting that occurred on Thursday night in the 1200 block of Adcock Avenue has been identified as 24-year-old Anthony Sanford. KPD investigators have identified the suspect as 20-year-old Tomier Lundy and have issued a warrant for his arrest for First Degree Murder. Lundy, who remains at large, is approximately 5’5” and 160 pounds with black hair. Anyone with information concerning Lundy’s whereabouts should immediately call the KPD Crime Hotline at 865-215-7212 or 865-215-7317. The investigation remains ongoing as Violent Crimes Unit investigators are continuing to follow all leads.

At approximately 6:15 p.m. on Thursday, April 30, Knoxville Police Department officers responded to a shooting with victim in the 1200 block of Adcock Avenue. Upon arrival, a male victim was found near the street in front of a residence suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. EMS and KFD personnel arrived on scene and began providing medical aid. The victim was transported to the UT Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased. Violent Crimes Unit investigators responded to the scene to begin their investigation. There are no suspects in custody at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
