Debbie Helsey was one of the first voters to cast a ballot Wednesday in the Sept. 29 City primary election.
When the polls opened Wednesday, Debbie Helsey was waiting. She wanted to be one of the first Knoxville residents to cast a ballot.
“I always vote at every election because I was raised that way,” says Helsey, who lives in South Knoxville and early-voted at the City County Building. “I love early voting because it’s convenient and I don’t have to wait in long lines.”
Early voting for the Sept. 29 City primary election began today and will continue through Sept. 24 at five early-voting sites: the City County Building, Downtown West, the Love Kitchen, New Harvest Park, and South Knoxville.
