This Week: Be Sure to Thank a Teacher!
Is there a Knox County educator who changed your life? If so, this would be a great week to reach out and say “thank you.”

Nov. 14-18 is officially Thank a Teacher Week, presented by Great Schools Partnership, Knox County Schools, Knox County Council PTAs and the Knox County Education Association.

So share some kind words with that special teacher. Or post a Tweet using the hashtag #ThankaTeacherKnox. Or you can post a personal anecdote on the Great Schools Partnership's Facebook page, or email the partnership at [email protected].

Knoxville Mayor Madeline Rogero and Knox County Mayor Tim Burchett were among the community leaders who gave video interviews, telling personal stories and thanking teachers who helped them or their children. Watch the video by clicking HERE.

Mayors Rogero and Burchett, along with School Board member Gloria Deathridge, Interim Schools Superintendent Buzz Thomas and other officials, also helped kick off Thank A Teacher Week on Monday at Maynard Elementary, 737 College St., by thanking educators for their commitment to making a difference in the lives of their students.

After the classroom visits, officials cut a ribbon to celebrate $960,000 in accessibility improvements at the school.
