Cure for Summer's Sizzle? Take a Dip!
With Knoxville temperatures above 90 degrees all week, why not cool off at the City's Ed Cothren Pool, 1737 Reynolds St., or Inskip Pool, 4204 Bruhin Road?
More than 10,300 people have dived in and splashed around during the pools' first month of operation, according to Recreation Superintendent Kristin Manuel.
"It's a very inexpensive option for families," Manuel said. "We have full concenssions, and admission is $3 at Inskip and $2 at Ed Cothren. It's a fun option for families wanting to cool off and play in the water."
Did you know that Inskip Pool holds 285,000 gallons of water and boasts two low dives, a high dive, a nearby greenway walking loop and a playground? Or that the 275,000-gallon Ed Cothren Pool has a diving board, accessible ramp and two shelters?
