Residents Attend Public Meeting for Cal Johnson Recreation Center Renovations
Residents attended a public meeting Monday, July 23, at Cal Johnson Recreation Center to hear and give feedback on architectural suggestions for the center’s renovation.
Located at 507 Hall of Fame Dr., the 61-year-old building is slated for a $550,000 renovation to begin in 2019.
The 10,760 square foot building currently hosts after school and K.O.R.E. Camp youth programs, youth and adult basketball leagues, and an open weight room.
Community Tectonics Architects presented the proposal at the meeting, which suggests the consolidation of several smaller rooms into two larger open spaces for accommodating more people and upgraded restrooms.
