Parks and Recreation Summer Camp Revamp, K.O.R.E., Sees Record-Breaking Numbers

This year, the City of Knoxville Parks and Recreation Department reinvented its summer camp program, now known as K.O.R.E. Camp.

The result: record-breaking attendance and a field trip schedule that's packed with summer fun.

So far this summer, students collectively have logged more than 10,000 days at K.O.R.E. Camp.

Ten City community centers offer this K.O.R.E. Camp program, which includes field trips to places like:
  • Main Event
  • Tennessee Theatre
  • NASCAR SpeedPark
  • Kentucky Splash Waterpark
  • City of Knoxville outdoor pools

Other field trip venues include Jump Jam, Pump It Up, Roll Arena, Skate Town, movie theaters and museums. See the map below to view the recreation center sites and the nearly 30 field trip sites in the K.O.R.E. Camp program:

The camps continue for another three weeks, and registration is still open at most recreation centers. The fee is $20 per week after a $30 registration fee. For more information, visit www.SummerCampKnoxville.com.
