Posted: 09/02/2020
The City of Knoxville Police Advisory & Review Committee (PARC) will hold its 2nd Quarter meeting on Thursday, Sept. 10, at 6 p.m. via the Zoom online platform.

PARC members will present information on cases received by the Knoxville Police Department’s Internal Affairs Unit in April, May and June 2020. Lt. Sammy Shaffer will present an overview of the KPD Training Academy Curriculum. The agenda also includes committee business, speakers who have requested to address the committee, and a public forum, limited to three minutes per speaker. Residents wishing to participate in the public forum should email PARC Executive Director LaKenya Middlebrook by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 9.

Plans to live stream the meeting will be posted on PARC’s Facebook page. Video of the meeting will be available to view on Community Television of Knoxville’s website, CTVKnox.org, on Friday, Sept. 11.

PARC was established in 1998 to provide an independent review of police activity and make recommendations to the Chief of Police. It is the longest continuously running citizen-run police advisory board in Tennessee.
