Suspect Identified from Central Avenue Pike Shooting  
Knoxville Police Department investigators have obtained warrants for the arrest of Johnathan Davis, 19, of Knoxville, Tennessee for the first degree murder and attempted second degree murder stemming from the shooting that occurred at the Red Roof Inn located at 5334 Central Avenue Pike on October 11, 2020.  

The shooting resulted in the death of 58-year-old John Townsend of Knoxville, Tennessee, while a second male victim, who is an employee of the Red Roof Inn, was critically injured. The second victim remains in critical condition.  

Following extended investigation by the Violent Crimes Unit, and with assistance from the Organized Crime Unit, Davis was identified as the primary suspect. At this time, Davis remains at large.
