KPD investigating Saturday morning shooting at Hillside Avenue

On Saturday, February 1, 2020 at 3:04 a.m., KPD officers responded to the 2900 block of Hillside Avenue in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located a 25-year-old victim who was transported to the UT Medical Center via AMR with serious injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening from a gunshot wound to the chest.

While at the UT Medical Center, officers were advised that a second victim from the same incident, a 34-year-old male, was being treated for minor injuries from a gunshot wound to his lower back.

Witnesses advised that a suspect vehicle traveling on Hillside Avenue fired shots at the victims before leaving the scene. The circumstances surrounding the shooting are unknown at this time.

The KPD Violent Crimes Unit is investigating the incident and there is no further information at this time.
