Downtown Parking Tip Sheet: Nov. 2
Welcome to this weekly blog series from the City’s communication team to help keep you apprised of downtown events and parking opportunities.

The State Street Garage construction project that will add 570 parking spaces is in full swing. During construction, this popular parking destination for downtown visitors may fill up sooner than it has in the past, so the City and the Public Building Authority are helping visitors anticipate where parking spaces are available. Last month, sensors that count available parking spaces in real time were installed in the State Street, Locust Street and Main Street garages.

Temporary road and on-street parking closures are also in effect. S. Central Street between Union and Clinch avenues is closed, detouring travelers up Union to the four-way stop at State, with the only option being a right turn onto State back toward Summit Hill. In the near future, State Street will allow for two-way traffic, and southbound travelers can turn from Union onto State and proceed  to Clinch, where they can turn west toward Gay or east back onto S. Central.

You can avoid the detour altogether by taking Hall of Fame Drive to Hill Ave or Gay Street to Dwight Kessel Garage, First Presbyterian Church, etc.

This weekend:
